Two killed in traffic accidents

ABU DHABI — Two persons, a UAE national and an Asian, were killed while 53 others were injured in as many as 21 separate traffic accidents in Abu Dhabi and its outskirts between July 29 and August 4.

Colonel Ghaith Al Za'abi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Abu Dhabi General Police Directorate, said these incidents took place primarily because the drivers involved did not adhere to the traffic rules. Their violations included not giving the right of way to other motorists, jumping the red light, and not maintaining an adequate distance in relation to the motor vehicles ahead.
