The arrests came as the border guards had alerted the police that two Bangladeshi nationals, Fattah, 52 and Abdull Al Aleem, 43, were trying to leave the country through the borders of Dibbah Al Husn with help of two Arab nationals who work at the border.

Bribes received

During their interrogation, it came to light that the two Arab nationals had received bribes to help the illegals leave the country.

They had managed to help three people illegally depart the country before they were caught. The two Bangladeshis told the police during interrogation that though they were trying to depart the country through the borders, they had planned to return back.

The two Bangladeshis had entered the country on visit visas and had stayed illegally for four years.

They were working with maintenance and cleaning companies on meagre salaries. A top official of Sharjah Police said the police had tightened the borders and were keeping tabs to nab the illegals.

The incidence of people infiltrating the country has registered increase following the issuance of new visa laws.

In 2008, 51 illegals were arrested while trying to leave the country through the borders.
