Two held for stealing

DUBAI — The Dubai Police have managed to arrest two Iraqi nationals — Mohamed A. and Ali M. — who have stolen Dh680,000 from a car in Deira. The two accused saw an expatriate — Ahmed M. — withdrawing the money from a bank in Bur Dubai.

They followed the man till he reached a restaurant on Shaikh Zayed Road near Emirates Towers. The man left the bags which contained the money in his car and went to the restaurant. The two broke the back door, stole the money, and fled. The victim informed the police. The Dubai Police and CID officials managed to arrest the criminals within eight hours in Deira.

The accused were sent to police custody and investigation showed that they had been living in the UAE for four years and had transferred huge amounts to their country. The two accused were referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution.
