Two arrested in robbery case

SHARJAH — The Sharjah Police on Wednesday arrested a Chadian and a Sudanese for their alleged involvement in the recent spate of robberies targeting people who withdrew cash from banks in various parts of the emirate.

A large number of complaints were received by police stations about two men who stalked customers as they leave the banks and break window glasses of their vehicles and steal cash.

The police investigations and research section formed a team which managed to identify the suspects and locate their whereabouts. The police arrested the two while trying to break the window glass of the car of a person who had just withdrawn money from a bank at Bank Street here. The Chadian suspect tried to run way, but the police managed to nab him. — afkarali@khaleejtimes.com
