Trucks defying law on shifting of waste to be issued tickets
DUBAI — Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, has instructed the General Department of Traffic to seize and issue tickets for the drivers of heavy vehicles which transport concrete and do not comply with the Local Order No. 11 of the year 2003 regarding public and social safety.
The Dubai Police is keen to protect the environment in the UAE, he said.
Lt-Gen. Dhahi said that the concerned authority noted that some vehicles are throwing concrete, sand and waste on Dubai roads which disturb traffic flow.
