Mohammed Ebied from Al Khaleej newspaper won the award for the best article in Arabic for his write-up headlined "Chocolate - The Maestro of the Sweets Symphony" while Glenn Victor of Gulf Today won the best article in English for his article "Going Mad Over Doughnuts". The best photographer's award went to Hadrian Hernandez of Gulf News for his picture on the 'Italian Ice-Cream'.
Eyad Abdulrahman, Media Relations Manager, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), said: "The vast coverage in the media which highlighted the various activities organised during the Sweets Surprises Week played a major role in further augmenting our objectives. We were encouraged by the efforts of the print media which highlighted all the activities through their writing skills and the photographs."
