On July 28, the accused reportedly along with two other persons went to the warehouse of an engineering company in Jebel Ali to steal electric cables.

They used sharp tools to cut the copper cables so that it would be easier to carry them as they made good their escape.

But a police patrol spotted them and nabbed them.

However, two of them managed to flee while the others were arrested.

One of them later confessed that they had planned the theft.
