Speaking at the graduation ceremony for 281 officers at the Police College, Lt-Gen. Shaikh Saif said that all people should get justice without discrimination and this is the strategy always adopted by the country's leadership.

"Don't think the time of hard work is over, because working in the police is a constant and continuous effort, and we promise you to do our best in improving human resources in the Ministry of Interior, in compliance with the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan," Lt-Gen. Shaikh Saif told the graduates, urging them to do their utmost to preserve the security and stability of society.

It was the graduation ceremony for the 16th batch of police officers. A total of 15 graduates are from the GCC countries, in addition to 115 university students.

Brigadier Mustafa Shehab Al Hashemi, Director-General, Police College, expressed gratitude to Lt-Gen. Shaikh Saif for meeting all the requirements of the college to accomplish its goals in the best way possible. After the ceremony, Lt-Gen. Shaikh Saif inaugurated the "Crime Scene Village" in the college, a modern training facility.

Great breakthrough

Speaking to newsmen after the graduation ceremony, Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim said police agencies achieved a great breakthrough recently when they succeeded in arresting murderers and abductors.

Lt-Gen. Dhahi said two women were murdered in Sharjah and Dubai, whilst the abduction crime occurred in Abu Dhabi. The police of the three emirates constituted a team to investigate the crimes. "Thanks to the efficiency and the UAE officers, they were able to arrest the criminals," he said.

The official said UAE officers are now well-experienced. "They have been trained to the most up-to-date academic and field techniques and systems. They can efficiently deal with different electronic engineering devices and labs. They are capable of tracing and unveiling cyber crimes. They have become security experts," he told reporters.

He said a very important security meeting will be held in Dubai in September this year. Many senior Arab police officials are expected to attend it.
