A land lease agreement to this effect was signed yesterday by Abdulla bin Ali Al Suwaidani, chairman, Four Lines Media and Jamal Al Sharif, manager, Dubai Studio City.

The channel has so far been operating from Dubai Media City for more than one year.

"Dubai Studio City provides the strategic platform for broadcast companies targeting Arab viewers around the world. We are developing a supportive infrastructure and environment to enhance broadcasting companies’ competitive edge. We also offer a host of enabling services and business incentives to assist them with their development," Jamal Al Sharif said.

To be built on an area of 60,000 sq. ft., the new facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment broadcasting technologies, which will enable Four Lines to enhance Arabian Travel TV’s programming.

Arabian Travel TV, which broadcasts in Arabic around-the-clock via NileSat, is a specialised travel and tourism channel that targets Arab travellers.

The channel features a wide variety of programmes, which provide information about prime travel destinations around the world.

Approximately 8 million people in the Arab world use Arabian Travel TV as their key resource for planning holidays.

"We are quite confident that our cooperation with Dubai Studio City will further our efforts towards providing a rich television experience for our viewers across the region," Abdulla Ali Al Suwaidani said.

Dubai Studio City is creating an infrastructure and environment that matches some of the world’s leading studios.

The development, to be spread over an area of 22 million sq. feet, will provide a stimulating environment for film professionals to maximise their creative and technical potential.

The main components of the Dubai Studio City master plan include studio complexes, backlots, a social centre, a commercial zone, a residential district and a film academy.

Phase one of Dubai Studio City is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
