The police freed four Pakistani women, who were lured into the country by the trafficking gang offering decent jobs. After reaching here, they were kept in a villa rented by the gang leader in a neighbouring emirate and were forced into prostitution.
The Sharjah Police received a tip-off regarding the gang’s activities. After confirming the information, the four suspects were arrested in coordination with the police of the neighbouring emirate and they confessed to bringing the women from their country to run a brothel.
The suspects used to supply the women to their clients in Sharjah, the police were told. The women told the police that the gang leader lured them to the UAE promising to get them decent jobs. In a separate case, the Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police has arrested three Bangladeshi men and two compatriot women who were using their house located in Sharjah as a brothel.
The house was raided after confirming the information and the five suspects were arrested. During the raid, some of them tried to escape, but were eventually arrested. They confessed to running a brothel to earn money.
All suspects are detained and will be referred to the public prosecution.Major-General Humaid Mohammed Al Hudaidi, Chief of the Sharjah Police, said that the police are putting in tremendous effort to arrest all those who come to the country for flesh trade.
He added that it is totally against human dignity and a violation of the persons’ basic human rights.
“The public should coordinate with the police and inform us in case they witness any illegal activity. They can call the Najeed number, 800151, to report any important matter.
