Traffic violations come down
DUBAI — Lieutenant Marwan Al Gergawi, Head of the Traffic Section at Dubai International Airport, said the traffic violations recorded during the last year in the Dubai International Airport area reached 15,964.
He said the strict measures taken by the traffic section has minimised traffic jams and decreased the number of violations to 1,330 per month as compared to 3,000 per month during the year 2004. He said that parking in prohibited areas had topped traffic violations, 9,345, followed by traffic obstruction with 5,042 violations. About 187 tickets were issued for expired licence and 159 for not obeying police instructions.
