Nabeel Mohammed Saleh, Director of Roads Department in Traffic and Roads Agency, said the new diversion will maintain the same number of lanes in the same directions.

“The decision to introduce this diversion stems from the keen attention of the RTA to provide alternative and safe roads for users of surrounding roads and pedestrians in the vicinity of the project during the period of construction, without affecting the existing traffic lanes,” he added.

He noted that the required improvements are in place for this diversion to ensure smooth and safe transit in all traffic lanes in the area. Traffic signals and temporary directional signs have been provided to streamline the traffic flow.

Nabeel called on all motorists using the diversion to abide by the prescribed speed limits, follow the directional signs at site, and use alternative roads so as to ease traffic congestion during the period of construction.
