A tourist from Saudi Arabia, who was on a visit to Sharjah with his family, realised that he had forgotten his identification documents at the hotel where he stayed. As luck would have it, he realised this when he reached the Al Ghuwaifat border crossing, nearly 500km from Sharjah.
He decided to return to Sharjah, and called up Sharjah Police to inform them about the missing documents.
To his surprise, as he was returning, he was stopped by a Sharjah Police patrol vehicle just as he was about to reach Abu Dhabi city. The police gave him his identification documents back, along with some flowers.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Khater and Captain Saud Al Shaibah from traffic awareness branch at Sharjah Police, and Lieutenant Omran Al Matrooshi of the Sharjah Police Operations Department had travelled in the patrol vehicle to meet the Saudi tourist.
In a picture posted on the Sharjah Police's official Instagram account, the Saudi visitor can be seen speaking with one of the officers. He expressed his appreciation for their response and the way they solved his problem.
