They were winners of the Photography Exhibition 2007 which was held from August 12 to 18.
The winners were selected from nearly 50 participants belonging to various countries.
In the professional photographers’ category, James Aiden emerged on top, followed by Joseph Kapillan in the second position. The third position was shared by Moustafa Kassem and Alia Al Shamsi.
In the ‘Dubai - The Destination of Lasting Smile’ competition, Hiatham Al Khatem bagged the first position, followed by Imad Alaa Eddine and Nour Salem Al Midfa in the second and third positions, respectively.
Ibrahim Saleh, Chief Operations Officer, Dubai Summer Surprises said, “By holding this exhibition we wanted to encourage the photographers to showcase their talent. We congratulate the winners and encourage the others to participate in next year’s competition. We also thank Deira City Centre for hosting such an exhibition.”
Fareed Abdelrahman, Vice-President, Deira City Centre, said, “We were very pleased to host the Photography Exhibition 2007. A lot of activities and events take place at Deira City Centre each year during Dubai Shopping Festival.
The number of visitors increases each year and a big part of the shoppers are fond of arts and photography. We give away prizes worth of Dh500,000 in cash every week during DSS.”
The awards ceremony, which also featured a raffle draw, was attended by representatives of the Arab Photography Association. It is one of the major In-Mall Events.
