Top-Flight Entertainers Keep Up DSF Tempo

DUBAI - In this region where Arabian tunes dominate, live Spanish and Mexican music will surely captivate the shoppers at the various malls in Dubai this week.

The performers come from a group of musicians from Serbia bringing classic Spanish and Mexican tunes as part of the numerous shows organised for the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival.

Dubbed as Valentina’s Musical Group, the Serbian performers led by Valentina Tirmenstein, a violin virtuoso, and joined by five other talented musicians, will entertain visitors and shoppers with melodious music created by a combination of the violin, guitar, keyboard, marakas, clarinet and the drum box. Among the live music selections are several popular hits, including Besame Mucho.

Valentina’s Musical Group will be performing at Reef Mall on February 19, and Dubai Outlet Mall on February 20.

Festival City

The Monster Truck from UK awes the crowd at Dubai Festival City. Car crushing, motorcycle free-styling, ramp jumping, quad bike leaping and two wheel car driving.

The adrenalin-fuelled show with free-styled pickup trucks and modified gigantic wheels offers thrilling stunts.

Shows will run on Monday and Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm and 9pm, Friday 4pm, 7pm and 9pm and Saturday 4pm and 7pm until 28 February. Tickets are available at Dubai Festival City and online through Time Out Tickets http://www.timeouttickets.com/.

Mall of the Emirates

The Mall of the Emirates joined hands with the Ministry of Environment and Water to highlight the importance of using environmentally-friendly bags and reducing the use of plastic as it celebrateed this year’s UAE National Environment Day.

The mall carried out and edutainment activity to educate the junior visitors at the mall about the importance of being environmentally conscious by setting up an interactive play area where the kids took part in educational games.

There, the youngsters were taught about the dangers of plastic bags and what alternatives could be used. Home Centre gave away eco-friendly bags to the participating children.
