GDRFA centres across the emirate will be closed for the Prophet's birthday, the authority announced
The visiting specialist doctors will be here as part of the Ministry of Health's (MoH) Visiting Consultant Programme (VCP) for 2007.
The VCP, which was initiated by the MoH, aims at sparing the residents the cost of treatment abroad and upgrading the standards of health care.
As per the schedule, Dr. Ram Dhillon, ENT surgeon from England, will be visiting the Al Qasimi Hospital from May 26 to June 1.
Dr. Robert Yates, a paediatric interventional cardiology consultant from the Great Armond Street Hospital, UK, will be visiting the hospital from June 2 to 8.
Dr. Bett Courtenay, an orthopedic and total knee replacement consultant from Australia will be here to carry out surgeries from June 9 to 15.
Dr. David Coats, a paediatric ophthalmology consultant from the US will be visiting the hospital from June 9 to 14 to examine children with eye problems.
Dr. Robert Hill, a paediatric orthopedic consultant from the UK will be available from June 28 to August 2.
Dr. Hill will revisit the hospital from November 10 to 15.
Patients who opt for maxillo-facial head and neck surgery will have the chance to be examined by Dr. Laurence Newman from the UK between August 25 and 30 while Dr. Scott Smith, an ophthalmology, cataract and glaucoma consultant from the US will be visiting the hospital from October 20 to 25.
The VCP programme for the current year will allow patients looking to consult sports medicine experts, to meet Dr. Laszlo Hangody from Hungary between November 3 and 8.
