For newcomers in Dubai, the DSF is a spectacle of fun, great shopping experience but for long-term residents in Dubai, the DSF is an opportunity to relax and revive on memories of the past shopping festivals.

Khaleej Times caught up with a few residents of Dubai asking them about their favourite past DSF moments in shopping malls and what were they looking forward to this year.

Divya N, a resident of Sharjah, said, “Every DSF, my family and I usually head for malls in the city. Around four years ago, my family and I won a Hitachi refrigerator from Giant Supermarket as part of the DSF promotion.”

Mehnaaz Mustafa, a resident of Dubai, said, “One of my most favourite DSF moments was a few years ago at the Deira City Center. I used to go there with my cousins and try out all the rides at Magic Planet. Later our parents would come and we would go shopping and check out the various entertainment. That was almost four years ago, and I feel things have been getting more expensive since then.”

Neville Pereira, a resident of Dubai who attended his first DSF last year, said, “My favourite event for last year was the Sports Fiesta which was in Safa Park. Being a huge sports fan, it was a lot of fun participating a lot of tournaments and the after-dance events was one of my best memories of the DSF.”
