DUBAI — Two Afghans on Monday pleaded, before the Criminal Court of First Instance, guilty to stealing mobile phones, watches and electronic items. The defendants, all in their twenties, and another person who is still at large allegedly stole 43 mobile phones, 300 watches, 15 electronic items and prepaid mobile phone cards worth around Dh40,000 from a warehouse in Al Quoz on July 6 this year.
The accused used a sharp metallic tool to break into the warehouse.A police officer said during investigation, the police found one of the stolen mobile phones with the Afghan (who pleaded not guilty in the court on Monday). “He told us that he bought it from one of the defendants and the accused who is still at large. The police managed to nab the two accused.”A verdict is expected on October 20.
