AL AIN — Three Pakistanis were killed on the spot and a UAE national was injured in a head-on collision of two cars on Al Ain-Al Wegan Highway yesterday morning.
The deceased, identified as 49-year-old M.K.H., 43-year-old M.A.K., and 40-year-old H.K.H., were occupants of one car. The driver of the other car, a UAE national, sustained arms and leg fractures, police said.
According to a police source, the accident occurred around 7.15am. The cars were coming from opposite directions.
The UAE national’s car was gutted and the other car completely destroyed, said the police official.
“Speeding and disregard for traffic rules caused this accident,” the official said. The bodies were extricated from the mangled remains by a team from the Al Ain Police Emergency and Safety Unit.
The bodies were shifted to the morgue of Al Ain Preventive Medicine Hospital and the injured Emirati was admitted to Tawam Hospital.
In another car accident, a 21-year-old UAE national, S.A.A.K, was injured seriously.
The official said the accident occurred around 1am on Friday at Hafeet Mountain’s Roundabout.
The car veered out of control and rolled several times.
The injured was moved to the ICU of Tawam Hospital.
