The arrest took place when the police checked his car on his way back from the other emirate and found the liquor in the car.

The lower court sentenced him to two months in jail for the sale of alcohol and to one month in jail for illegal stay in the country, in addition to a fine of Dh5000.

The convict appealed the verdict at the Fujairah Court of Appeal which upheld the verdict of the lower court in terms of the period of imprisonment, but reduced the fine to Dh1500.
