FUJAIRAH — Three people were killed and four injured in an accident on Thursday when a truck veered of the road at Al Buthna junction and crashed into a cafeteria.
A preliminary investigation of the accident site revealed that the tragedy occurred when a car carelessly crossed Al Buthna junction on the Massafi-Fujairah road and collided with a vehicle carrying gas cylinders.
The truck, which was behind the vehicle swerved abruptly and the driver lost control of the vehicle hitting the roadside cafetaria.
An Indian and a Bangladeshi were identified among the dead, while the identity of the third deceased was not yet known.
An Emirati woman, a Nepalese national, an Indian, and a Bangladeshi were among the injured.
The injured were rushed to a Fujairah hospital. The bodies of the deceased were also shifted to the hospital.
An investigation into the accident has been opened to ascertain who caused the accident.
