Three killed in road accidents

DUBAI — Three people were killed and three injured in separate road accidents in Dubai in the four days.

In an accident near the Dnata building, a 35-year-old labourer died on the spot when he was hit by a heavy vehicle engaged in construction work.

In an accident near Abu Souqiem Clinic, a 23-year-old national was killed when his quad bike was hit by a vehicle.

In another incident, a 41-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross road.

Road safety

ABU DHABI — The Traffic and Patrols Department (TPD) of the Abu Dhabi Police yesterday organised a lecture on road safety for employees of the agriculture and planting section of the Abu Dhabi Municipality.

The lecture was part of the campaign being organised by the TPD to spread road safety awareness among residents. The Head of the Media and Public Relations Section at the TPD, Major Jamal Al Amri, said the lecture stressed the need for pedestrians to abide by road safety rules.
