While sources in Rashid Hospital reported three deaths, Dubai Police stated that only one person died in the accident, and two others suffered injuries.
According to eyewitnesses and hospital sources, a minibus carrying workers broke down between the first and second interchange on Shaikh Zayed Road. While waiting by the roadside for a towaway vehicle, a speeding car smashed into the vehicle resulting in a fire. Witnesses claimed that three people died on the spot. They also claimed that three Indians and one Filipino were injured.
Rashid Hospital sources said the injured were given treatment and discharged.
