The Public Prosecution charged a 19-year-old student, Y.M., a 20-year-old bank accountant, F.R., and a 20-year-old student, A.M., with robbery. The case dates back to April 26, 2006. The first and third accused trailed the Chinese victim, N.L., to Naif area, Deira, attacked him when he came out of a bank and robbed him of Dh114,400 before fleeing the spot. The victim rushed to a police officer at Gold Souq and informed him of the incident.

The prosecution pointed out that the second accused, F.R, is an accountant at the same bank. He knew of the cheque amount the victim cashed. He colluded with the first and third accused to commit the robbery.

On June 27 this year, the first accused, Y.M., was detained in a robbery case in Abu Dhabi. During interrogation, he confessed to all his crimes, including the robbery in Deira, following which the police arrested the second and third accused.
