Three Dead as 4-wheeler Hits Minibus

DUBAI - Three Indian workers died on the spot and 10 others suffered moderate to serious injuries after a four-wheel drive hit the minibus carrying them on the Jebel Ali-Al Lehbaab Road on Monday.

Major Abdul Qadir Al Banai, Director of Jebel Ali police station, said the investigation revealed that the accident was caused by the driver of the four-wheel drive who tried to overtake the minibus from the wrong side.

“His vehicle hit the minibus which crashed into the road barrier and ended up on the road for traffic in the opposite direction,” said Al Banai.

The bodies of the three Indians — A. Jaffer, Shihabuddin, and Shihab Nath — are with the General Department of Forensic Medicine.

Of the 10 injured, seven are in a serious condition while three others are stable.

Another man died in a separate accident that took place on Al Khail Road in the direction of Al Barsha on Monday.

The Palestinian car driver, Nassir Ahmed, died on the spot after he lost control over his car which hit a barrier and flipped.
