Thousands to benefit from RCS Ramadan aid

ABU DHABI — Thousands of needy people not only in the UAE but also overseas will benefit from the charitable programmes that have been finalised by the UAE Red Crescent Authority for the holy month of Ramadan.

Red Crescent Board Chairman Khalifa Nasser Al Suwaidi said that the charitable programmes are being expanded every year in order to reach greater number of needy people across the world.

Al Suwaidi expressed great confidence in the participation of the various charities in the country and stressed the importance of the role of donors in aiding the charitable projects.

He said a Dh470,000 budget has been approved for spending on humanitarian projects in 52 countries.

Saleh Mohammed Al Mullah, Red Crescent’s Deputy Secretary-General of Relief Projects, said a Dh250,000 budget has been approved for Iftar Al Saem through which thousands of families and poor people would benefit in other countries.
