Al Alamain Centre for electronic goods located near the Sharjah Clock Tower was burgled by a man who broke the lock and the glass door and took away the whole safe with its contents. The thief got away with Dh7,000 and gold medals costing Dh10,000 as well as several cheques, important documents and certificates.
Hani Yagoub Khalaf, owner of the outlet said that he never thought that his shop would be burgled one day, since it was located directly across the street from the Sharjah Police headquarters.
“When I reached at 9am to open the store, I was in a state of shock to see the broken glass panes scattered all over the place. My employees immediately called the police who came and took the fingerprints and pictures of the broken door. They instructed us to bring all the employees on Saturday to provide their finger prints for further investigation. I couldn't believe that the thief had broken into the shop and carried away the heavy safe without any one including the patrol police noticing him.”
“The Al Zahra Road is very busy at all times of the day with cars moving in both directions. How come such a burglary was committed in a place which is a security zone. When I rented this shop to run my business, the owner charged me more money for its location near the police department,” disclosed the owner.
