The Fox movie’s UAE distributors, Empire International, said the movie will premiere tonight ahead of its UAE release tomorrow.

The movie comes after four years of build-up and strict secrecy since it was first announced.

Fans of the hugely popular 20-year-running television series about the yellow American family were thrilled to hear of the movie’s arrival.

Empire International spokesperson Hiyam Itani felt the movie would be popular among the UAE audience, despite the fact that the TV series can be viewed on cable television.

For fans looking forward to the movie they need to only hear of the opening scene to guess that they will have their fill of the much-loved stupidity of Homer.

“The movie begins with Homer, his new pet, and a leaky silo full of droppings — a combination that triggers a disaster the likes of which Springfield has never experienced,” according to the movie notes.

From there, Homer must find forgiveness from Marge, the reunion of his splintered family, and the salvation of his hometown.

Itani said Empire expects audience numbers to exceed 100,000 across the Gulf.

While attributing the release dates to Fox plans, Itani said, “I think it will be very popular.”

After the movie’s premiere in Dubai tonight, it will be released for public viewing tomorrow across the UAE, Qatar and Lebanon.

However, audiences in Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan will be able to watch the movie tonight.
