Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX)
Under the umbrella of Green Week, DEWA is organising the 21st Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2019).
The event is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA, from October 21-23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event's activities will focus on promoting environmental citizenship in achieving sustainable development, maintaining health, improving living standards reducing poverty, securing new jobs; and protecting the environment by mitigating climate change, global warming, reducing acid rain and harmful waste. Environmental citizenship will also protect endangered species, fish, and water from pollution, contribute to food security, and increase crops.
WETEX 2019 aligns with the vision of the UAE's wise leadership to accommodate global trends that are shifting towards green energy, reinforcing the transformation towards a green economy. According to the annual report of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) for 2018, the global renewable sector employed 11 million people in 2018, compared to 10.3 million in 2017.

World Green Economy Summit (WGES)
The sixth edition of World Green Economy Summit (WGES) 2019 will discuss innovation as well as the key achievements realised by the UAE to push forward the journey in transforming to a green economy.
The summit will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, under the theme 'Innovative Technologies for a Sustainable Economy' on October 20 and 21 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre along with the 21st edition of Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and the fourth edition of Dubai Solar Show and the sixth edition of the Green Week.
The summit will include sessions and meetings in the fields of environment, innovation, green technologies from all over the world representing public and private sectors to move forward sustainable development and the transformation to a green economy.
The Summit in its past edition witnessed the launch of the World Green Economy Report, 'Inspiring Innovations in Business, Finance and Policy,' in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This shows the need to adopt more depth and diversity in our approach to building a real green economy and moving the global sustainability agenda forwards.

Dubai Solar Show (DSS)
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising the fourth Dubai Solar Show, the region's largest renewable and sustainable technology event. It will highlight the latest innovations in solar and sustainable energy by offering unique platform to forge partnerships between public and private sectors to develop innovative solutions.
Dubai Solar Show will be a key platform for the public and private sectors to make deals, build partnerships, review the latest solar-energy technologies, learn about current and future projects in the region and market needs, and explore opportunities to take part in solar-energy projects and programmes. Dubai Solar Show is dedicated to bringing the latest solar innovations and showcasing the largest solar projects in region.
