'The Mirror, Mirror in the Mall' competition, which will be organised on August 9, will be hosted by the BurJuman Centre. The competition is open for children in the age group of 8-12 and is a showcase of their talents on stage.
Registration for 'the Mirror, Mirror in the Mall' can be done at the DSS Office, 2nd floor, Department of Economic Development, Deira, Dubai, Modesh Fun City or the outlets of Mexx in BurJuman Centre and Al Ghurair City, before August 2.
Yousif Mubarak, Administration Director, said: "Inspired by the classic fairy tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the competition is one of the new and unique activities unveiled during DSS 2004."
The competition, sponsored by Gulf and Safa Dairies Company, will be held between 4pm and 8pm at BurJuman.
The contest will involve hordes of children and the most interesting part of it is that Snow White and the Snow Prince will select the winners. Entry is restricted to 70 participants and selection of kids will be based on their talents and abilities to enact the skills in front of a judging committee.
The children will be judged in various categories, which include flexibility, fancy dress, elocution, talent, painting, creation and Q&A. The Snow Prince and the Snow White will then choose the winners in all the categories - the Dwarf of Flexibility, the Dwarf of Fancy Dress, the Dwarf of Elocution, the Dwarf of Talent, the Dwarf of Painting, the Dwarf of Creation and the Dwarf of Q&A and they will be dressed up as the Seven Dwarves to accompany Snow White.
Also present on the occasion will be other characters from the Snow White story, which will include the Stepmother, in order to create the right ambience. Valuable prizes, sponsored by Jashanmal (Mexx), are up for grabs, including gift vouchers and gift hampers. A gift voucher worth Dh1000 awaits the seven winners. Further details about the activities planned as part of 'the Mirror, Mirror in the Mall' competition as also other DSS events can be obtained from Ahlan Dubai on 600 545 555.
