The workshops will provide answers to the firms’ enquiries about any challenges that may encounter them during the registration process.

Mohsen Ali Al Nasi, director of the WPS office urged the firms to speed up transfer of the wages through the system before expiry of the grace period to avoid fines as per the Cabinet Resolution number 788 of year 2009.

The WPS grants an employer a right of choosing an agent or more agents licensed by the Central Bank to take part in this system. The bank accredited to the firm, will send payroll to the WPS, which in turn send the salary data to the accredited agent which will pay salaries to workers. The database at the ministry of Labour will receive the same salary data.
