Technical difficulties blamed for delay in signing of MoU

The sources said the memorandum was not ready when the Australian delegation arrived, causing a 30-minute delay.

They attributed the delay to the organisational structuring in the ministry introducing new administrative bodies not yet familiar with their respective roles and a mistake by the foreign relations department. The Australian minister's visa, a list of the names of the members of the delegation and the reception procedure instructions were all sent to the wrong place, and information on the delegation was not available to the welcoming committee. The officials assured that such mistakes would not occur in the future as the new departments become familiar with their functions. The memorandum was to be signed on February 16.

No reports of the meeting between the ministers have been published yet, despite the media's presence, because the ministry refuses to reveal the contents of the memorandum.
