Tawam Hospital hosts campaign to mark occasion
AL AIN — On the occasion of World Diabetes Day yesterday, Tawam Hospital in coordination with Johns Hopkins Medicine organised a campaign with the slogan “Unite for Diabetes”.
It was organised jointly with all Tawam-Johns Hopkins-affiliated clinics Al Jahili, Na’ema, Al Wagan and Dental Centre.
The event aimed at highlighting the alarming rise of diabetes worldwide and promoting awareness that every person with diabetes or at risk of diabetes deserves the best possible health care, education and prevention.
The programme included a variety of workshops and training sessions conducted by specialised medical and paramedical staff including endocrinologists, diabetes nurses, dentists, pharmacists, nutritionists and podiatrists in order to enhance diabetes care. New developments in the management of diabetes were highlighted.
