The case history dates back to a few days ago when the Moroccan woman approached one of the police stations here to file a complaint against her sponsor, claiming that he had physically abused her several times, causing her different injuries and bruises. In accordance with routine legal procedures, the authorities here referred her for a medical examination to ascertain her claims.
To the surprise of the police, the final medical report showed that the 19-year-old lady, who is working in a beauty salon here, recently underwent an abortion operation. It is said that the name of her partner in adultery is still unknown. Grilled by the police, the plaintiff-turned-defendant also withdrew her claims against her sponsor. Besides committing indecent acts, the woman also faces charges of lodging a fake complaint. The RAK Criminal Court will issue its final decision on March 7.
