Synergy Properties is a real estate brokerage firm that specialises in off-plan properties in Dubai, India and the U.K. Originally set up to help Gulf-based expatriates and overseas foreign nationals out of the region purchase property in Dubai, the company has diversified its services into rentals, mortgage advice, long-term leasing, property management as well as property resale. Today, Synergy Properties has expanded its wings with offices in Mumbai and London as well, led by CEO Pawan Batavia.
Born in Gujarat, India, Batavia's interests in the construction field sparked at an early age. Since childhood, he showed keen interest in science and technology. He had completed his schooling from Rajkumar College and pursued higher education in the field of engineering from Atmiya Institute of Technology and Science. Since then, he has been associated with the realty sector for over a decade, which led to the birth of the Dubai-based Synergy Properties in 2008.
"Focus and determination are key factors to success," he said. "Being a qualified engineer, I am always keen on innovating, learning and adopting new market trends, as well as the usage of technology in the real estate world. During my career of almost 12 years, I have earned a reputation for building and maintaining relationships with my esteemed clientele as well as the prestigious developers in the region and around the globe. I think this is what sets my organisation and me apart from others in the industry."
Looking back, Batavia feels that he was destined to operate in Dubai when he had first started out as a real estate broker in 2004. "My biggest inspiration has been Dubai itself, and the vision and trust of its ruler. This dynamic city is a great hub for innumerable opportunities, especially real estate. I also truly believe that 'Change is Life'. Adapting the latest in this field and modifying accordingly has helped me maintain and grow this business," he added.
When the UAE experienced one of the worst recessions of its times, Synergy Property held its forte.
Batavia shared that a bear market, inadequate funds, zero liquidity and unsure people created difficult situations, however, breaking barriers and fishing for opportunities soon became almost a habit for him. "This biggest challenge helped me develop my fullest potential, and I now encourage others to do the same," he added.
The CEO owes this perseverance to innovative thinking, business ethics and focus on clients, as they are key virtues to surviving today's dynamic world.
"At my organisation, we highly emphasise on after sales service, and open and fair approach towards one's clients," he added.
He advises budding entrepreneurs to work hard, question, acquire knowledge, carry a positive attitude and respect clients. It is also essential to be able to predict what's next and have the flexibility to evolve.
Speaking about the future, Batavia looks forward to hiring more confident hardworking staff and develop the organisation in different territories.
