Colonel Najam Al Hosani, the event coordinator, said the two-day forum, which will be held under the patronage of Lt Gen. Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, will feature security and media experts from Germany, Britain, France and Belgium in addition to police commanders, prominent media personalities, journalism professors, researchers and academicians.

He said the event will provide a good opportunity for participants to network and exchange views about local and international experiences related to the theme of the event.

''It seeks to strengthen partnership between the police forces and the print, audio, and visual media in a way that can boost efforts for maintaining security and work out a mechanism to facilitate easy access of mediapersons to security information,'' he said, adding that the event is expected to come up with a charter of honour between the two partners.

Lt General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief will address the event on the issue, ''Balance between Press Freedom and Security Prerequisites''.
