The survey, which started in April, will continue until March 2008.

The centre will monitor the performance of all field enumerators and the extent of cooperation of families with them.

The performance and response of the families will be evaluated based on specific standards and the most cooperative and committed families will be selected.

Officials of the centre will visit the winning families at their homes and confer Distinguished Family certificates to them in addition to other prizes.

During April the families of Obaid Rashid bin Adhid and Hassan Ahmed Hassan won the award for their best cooperation with the enumerators deputed by the centre for collecting data.

The survey will be implemented by taking 4,042 families as specimen, which will amount to 2 per cent of the families residing in Dubai, in addition to 20 per cent of the labour accommodations.

The survey on expenditure and income of families is being implemented for the first time as a project in the whole country. The Statistics Centre of Dubai will carry out the survey in the emirate of Dubai.

In the Abu Dhabi emirate, it will be conducted by Planning and Economy Department and in the rest of the emirates the survey will be undertaken by the Ministry of Economy which will also be responsible for coordination and unification of the project at the national level.
