Summit on coastal and port engineering

DUBAI — The 7th international summit on Coastal and Port Engineering in Developing Countries (COPEDEC) will open here on February 24. The conference will bring together over 1000 marine engineers and scientists from around the world.

Essa Al Maidour, Assistant Director General of Dubai Municipality for General Projects Affairs and Chairman of the committee, said that the main theme of the conference is ‘Best Practices in the Coastal Environment.’

The conference will discuss as many as 226 papers from 43 countries. Papers from the UAE will cover marine environment issues of the Dubai Creek, coastal modelling of the Dubai coastline, generic impacts of large-scale structures on the shoreline and oil spill modelling in Dubai etc.
