Nearly 139 girls and 84 boys received their prizes while 750 attended the ceremony. This year, the event was arranged in a way as to welcome and meet the delegates of the World Memon Organisation (WMO) who had flown in from different countries to attend a board of management meeting.
Officials of the WMO who distributed the prizes included Sir Iqbal AKM Sacranie OBE Deputy President, Dr Abdool Magid Vakil Trustee of WMO Charitable Foundation, Dr Nasir Fulara Vice-President Indian Chapter, Pir Mohammad Kalia Vice-President Pakistan Chapter, Aboobaker Cassim, Trustee and Vice-President Middle East Chapter and Muhammed Yusuf Japanwala, Assistant Secretary General Far East Chapter. Haji Abdul Razzak Yaqoob, President of the WMO was also present.
Three children were presented with funds for an Umrah trip by road for completing Hifzul Quran. Special talent awards were presented to Dr Afsheen Abdullah Patel for receiving excellent MBBS results and Sa’ad Abdul Ghani Siddique for securing 6 ‘As’ and One ‘B’ in the O’ Level Examination. Dr Fauzia Farooq Sanghani was selected for an achievement award.
