The 45-day course drew 149 participants from preparatory schools, who were exposed to lectures and seminars on the concept of crime and effective countermeasures. The trainees also received lessons on the role of citizens in detecting crime and dealing with it.
Lectures on the duty of the police and categories of crime apart, students were also briefed on the menace of drugs and exposed to practical drills of the infantry. They also received arms and shooting practice besides being assigned police duties such as traffic inspection.
The students also visited a number of departments and sections of Fujairah police.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Shaikh Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, Deputy Ruler of Fujairah, Lieutenant Colonel Ghanim Ahmed Ghanim, acting director of Fujairah Police general directorate and a number of senior police officers. Shaikh Hamad later handed over certificates to the trainees.
