dubai - A total of 2,700 students of the Indian High School, from Grades 1 to 12, delivered a genuinely astounding performance for Republic Day celebrations once again. Performing with the theme 'Celebrating 150 years of the Mahatma', students scripted and choreographed the entire show, according to school CEO Ashok Kumar.
Kumar said: "The teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and the values from the Year of Tolerance needed to be imparted to every student. Children learned about these values by scriptwriting and performing. Teachers only guided them." A 'tableau on Gandhi' and other patriotic choreographed dances by students from Grades 3-8 truly stole the show on Friday. Latika Narain, headmistress at the Indian High School, organised the show with a team of teachers and other school staff. Sucheta Satish, the Grade 8 student who holds two world records for singing in 102 languages for over six hours and 15 minutes, was awarded the title 'Nightingale of Indian High School'.
