A Good Samaritan offered him a ride to Bur Dubai for free, declining Sahni's attempt to offer payment
An outpass and a ticket was organised by the Indian consulate in Dubai for the man who was put on a flight to Bangalore yesterday afternoon, police said.
The stowaway had managed to get on the flight at its origin in Bangalore and the flight was one hour out of Sharjah on Tuesday when the first officer went back to prepare a meal and discovered the man sitting just metres away from the cockpit.
The incident came to light only during the weekend and sources in the law-enforcement agencies yesterday said an investigation was carried out and the man was not charged under the UAE law.
The man had never been in the UAE and managed to board the cargo flight under the influence of liquor, according to police.
However, airline and Sharjah International Airport officials were not available for comment yesterday.
