The man, identified as Rashid Saif, 50, had stabbed his wife several times in the car and dumped her near Al Butaina thinking that she was dead and fled to Al Fujairah.

The culprit, a UAE national, surrendered to the Al Fujairah police who handed him over to the Sharjah police.

During the interrogations, the man admitted his involvement in the crime stating that he wanted to save his honour as he suspected that his wife was having an illicit relationship with someone.

According to the sources, a heated argument resulted in the man losing his cool.

The police said that the woman was admitted to the Al Qassimi hospital by a man who runs a grocery shop in the area.

According to them, he and some other passersby had seen the accused pushing her out of the car.
