Sports fun at MFS
DUBAI—A two-day sports tournament will open at Modhesh Fun City today. The sports on offer include football, basketball, table-tennis and archery. Called the MFS Sports Tournament, it will cover many sports and will last until August 28.
Yousif Mubarak, Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) Events, Operations and Services Director, said, “The Sports Day is an occasion in the long list of exciting activities lined up in view of the culmination of yet another successful DSS edition. Over the past weeks, we have received extremely positive feedback on the events held here, and we have been encouraged to organise more and more activities for DSS visitors.”
DSS outlined that the tournament format for football requires registration of teams with six players, including a goalkeeper. Basketball teams need to have five players in each team. Only single player participation is allowed for table tennis. The archery contest is expected to attract significant attention due to its popularity amongst numerous nationalities residing in Dubai, DSS added.
