The ministry clarified that the contract signed by the private school to utilise one of its gyms was concluded between the said school and the UAE Federation for Sports of Schools not with the ministry.

It may be mentioned here that on Monday Khaleej Times reported that the ministry refused the permission to the private school to utilise its gym. According to sources, the contract clearly shows that Dr Ahmed Saad Abdullah El Sheriff signed it on the behalf of the UAE Federation for Sports of Schools in his capacity as an assistant under-secretary of the Ministry of Education for Extra Curricular Activities.

The ministry said that only it had the right to lease out such properties. The Dubai Education Zone will also send a letter to the school management, saying it couldn't fulfill commitments made by any other body other than the Zone.
