The death toll from the storm which struck central and eastern Europe last week rose to 24 and some areas are still under threat from rising waters
The members discussed and reviewed new ways of promoting special needs tourism in the emirate, highlighting the role that DTCM plays in providing tourism services and facilities, especially to the special needs visitors.
Mohamed Al Geziry, who chaired the meeting, welcomed the attendees and reviewed the progress of the past meetings and encouraged the members to offer suggestions to improve the services for the special needs visitors.
In line with its interest in tapping the special needs visitors market, the DTCM always takes the lead in its effort to provide facilities and special services for the physically-challenged people.
Among other suggestions, what was most appreciated at the meeting was the plan to shoot awareness films. The film will highlight the common barriers that special needs people face and the ‘accessible’ facilities and services available at the Dubai International Airport, transport services, hotels, heritage sites, tours packages, cinemas, parks and shopping malls.
