Slew of events to mark Pakistan Day
Pakistanis in the UAE will celebrate Pakistan Day today by taking part in a number of activities organised by the community here. The day marks passing of the Lahore Resolution in 1940, which lay the foundations for a separate homeland for Muslims.

Flag hoisting ceremonies will be held at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai to mark the day. The Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) will be celebrating the day on March 28 at its premises.
As the main feature of the event, the ‘Pakistan Day Award’ will be given to the prominent Pakistanis in the UAE for their services towards the community. Diplomats will also attend the event.
Schoolchildren will sing national songs while a Pakistan quiz will be engaging the audience. — news@khaleejtimes.com
