Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi, received the Excellence in Surgery Services Award with the judges recording “excellent assimilation of a new technology and very good results”.
The award for Excellence in Laboratory Services went to the King Hussein Cancer Centre Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Jordan, described by the judges as a pioneer in the region.
The award for Excellence in Patient Centred Care was given to Al Corniche Hospital, which the judges said was providing an additional dimension in improving healthcare in Abu Dhabi.
The Rashid Hospital Trauma Centre in Dubai received the Excellence in Hospital Emergency Department Award and was described as “an exciting and interesting project” achieving excellent results.
Ambulatory Healthcare Services of the Abu Dhabi Health Services company (Seha 2) received the Human Resource Development Award.
The judges said work being carried out by Seha 2 is “innovative and groundbreaking considering the tremendous human resources challenges that healthcare organisations are currently facing”.
For its successes in many clinical and technical areas, the judges gave the Excellence in Electronic Health Records Award to the National Guard Health Affairs of Saudi Arabia.
For an “excellent ongoing project,” the Excellence in Patient Safety Award went to Lifeline Hospital, Abu Dhabi.
An Outstanding Contribution of an Individual to the Middle East Healthcare Industry Award went to Dr Azad Moopen, chairman of Dr Moopen Group, Dubai.
