Six permanent centres for govt services

AL GHARBIA - TheWestern Region (Al Gharbia) Municipality (WRM) will establish six permanent centres — in stages — to provide comprehensive government services at one place, an official said.

The new centres, which will provide government and private services at one building, will help save time, money and efforts of residents of theWestern Region.

Some 258 different services will be offered at the centres. In the first stage, four of these centres will be set up in Ghiyathi, AlMarfaa, Liwa and Sila by 2010, costing Dh160 million.

In the second stage, two centres will be built in Zayed City and Delma Island. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces had inaugurated the first such centre for comprehensive government services in Zayed City in 2005, following which, three other centres were built in Delma Island, Sila and Ghiyathi, said Hamud Hameed Al Mansuri, Director General of WRM.
