Six men arrested with 1,031 phones

SHARJAH - The Sharjah Police on Monday arrested six Bangladeshi nationals with 1,031 mobile phones stolen from a warehouse in Dubai to be sold in Sharjah.

According to a police official, the police learnt that four men were in possession of a large number of mobile phones and after ascertaining the validity of the information, police identified the four suspects at their home in Al Butina area. Their apartment was raided and police found in their possession 926 mobile phones.

During the investigation they told the police of their two other accomplices and gave directions of their house in Samnan area. The police raided the second house and found the two men in possession of 105 mobile phones. The gang told the police that they had collectively stolen the phones from a warehouse in the Rashidiya area of Dubai. The six men have been referred to Dubai Police to face the charges from the authorities where they committed the crime.
